#4 Barbecue Chicken with Mac and Cheese Recipe || Billie & Sharna Hey You! Let’s Cook!

Sharna and Billie!! I don’t even know where to start writing about the two of you!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

It was a great great great  afternoon… I haven’t seen them for quite some time, specially Billie,  and then “boom” I remembered how funny they are: Billie likes things to move quick, she’s a fast talker unlike Sharna, which enjoys taking her time to observe and analyse. Therefore, they were the perfect duo on this cooking challenge! (Watch some snaps bellow)

12pm was the meeting time, however one of us were late (as always) – It is unnecessary to mention my name! Hop on and hop off straight to the supermarket, where Billie told her brother she’s super busy cooking for a famous Youtuber. (LOL not really)

While filming, at first glance  you can tell that B is not camera shy at all – dancing, singing, joking around – all very natural. S went along and boosted her cooking skills over the roof  which made the environment very light! I will forever remember the sexy voice of hers saying

giphy

“A little ball”…. Naughty naughy Sharna! ahahaha

By the way I was devastated for a week when the last chicken wing finished.

Ozan, the chef who does not know what to cook! But at the end Salmon and Pasta was delicious!

IMG_0016

I invited Ozan to ‘Hey You! Let’s Cook!’, apprehensive he said yes “I don’t know, you know.”

At first he did not know what to cook, then Turkish food emerged as a solution, however the ingredients needed were very specific and not easily obtainable.

In substitution, Stew… Beef or Lamb stew was the main meal for the third ‘Hey You! Let’s Cook!’ edition.

Not really… At the supermarket Ozan fell in love with Salmon, therefore,  sweet chilli Salmon on a bed of Mediterranean style Pasta was finally the chosen one!

Spaghetti & Meatballs recipe || Maria Hey You! Let’s Cook!

IMG_0009EDITADA#1 Spaghetti & Meatballs recipe || Maria Hey You! Let’s Cook!

Prior to write the recipe, I thought you would like to know that this was not Maria’s first recipe choice. Back in December, I invited her to come to this new segment of PACSA – no hesitation from her part! Thank you Maria!

IMG_0004MARIA1

During mid January, we recorded the first ‘Hey You! Let’s Cook!’ ever, which finally made my 2013 idea real (click here).

But, that’s not the main aspect I was referring at the beginning. When we got to the kitchen, Maria asked me ‘Where is the mash potatoes?” “What mash potatoes?” I replied. The first participant of ‘Hey You! Let’s Cook’ wanted to cook Meatballs with mash potatoes but forgot to include the ingredient on her recipe list. For this reason, plan B (spaghetti) came up!

Recipe:

Spaghetti & Meatballs!

Ingredients:

  1. Meatballs (sufficiently)
  2. Spaghetti (sufficiently)
  3. Garlic (2 cloves)
  4. Olive oil (sufficiently)
  5. Water (sufficiently)
  6. Salt (sufficiently)
  7. Onion (1)
  8. Tomato sauce (sufficiently)

How to make Spaghetti & Meatballs?

  • Chop the Garlic and Onion and add to the pan.
  • Drizzle some olive oil and water to make a stew.
  • Add Tomato sauce.
  • 5 minutes after, mix with the meatballs and salt.
  • In a different pan, fill with water.
  • Add salt (and olive oil if desired)
  • Once is boiling, add the spaghetti
  • Leave it until it’s cooked and (ding) Ready!

‘Hey you! Let’s Cook’ Storyline

1468544_570931279665989_223590416_n

I enjoy cooking, I always have… (not always, but most of the times)! Mom, uncles and aunties prepared me very well for adulthood.

Now that I live on my own, I thank them for the hours they spent teaching me how to season meat; how to make rice; how to avoid burn the food; how to know if it’s cooked; when’s the right time to turn off the stove and specially, how to prepare a variety of dishes and eat healthy.

From my point of view, there are two eating habits options: the first one – processed food, which is quick to buy at supermarkets and kill the hungriness for 10 minutes. The second one (my favourite), cooking food, in which you can identify every single ingredient you ingest and satisfies you for at least 1 hour.

‘Hey You! Let’s Cook’ emerged 3 years ago through a university project. The lecturer Josie Barnard, from Publishing Books and Magazines module challenge us, students, to create and present a sample of a book containing self-critical reflection; plan for launch, distribution and promotion.

Although it was not the best seller worldwide, I came up with ‘Hey You! Let’s Cook’:

giphy

Overall, I received excellent feedback from Josie and my peers, therefore as a video lover I always desired to spread the idea! Today is the D-day! Join me in this journey, which I hope it goes well. The main aim is to help people cooking with simple and quick recipes, in order for them to embrace option number two on a daily basis.

A special thank you to Páscoa Costa (for taking the pictures back in 2013); Josie Barnard (for challenging me) and Maria Ana (for being the first on this aspiring idea).

Do not miss ‘Hey You! Let’s Cook!’!
