Spaghetti & Meatballs recipe || Maria Hey You! Let’s Cook!

IMG_0009EDITADA#1 Spaghetti & Meatballs recipe || Maria Hey You! Let’s Cook!

Prior to write the recipe, I thought you would like to know that this was not Maria’s first recipe choice. Back in December, I invited her to come to this new segment of PACSA – no hesitation from her part! Thank you Maria!

During mid January, we recorded the first ‘Hey You! Let’s Cook!’ ever, which finally made my 2013 idea real (click here).

But, that’s not the main aspect I was referring at the beginning. When we got to the kitchen, Maria asked me ‘Where is the mash potatoes?” “What mash potatoes?” I replied. The first participant of ‘Hey You! Let’s Cook’ wanted to cook Meatballs with mash potatoes but forgot to include the ingredient on her recipe list. For this reason, plan B (spaghetti) came up!

Spaghetti & Meatballs!

  1. Meatballs (sufficiently)
  2. Spaghetti (sufficiently)
  3. Garlic (2 cloves)
  4. Olive oil (sufficiently)
  5. Water (sufficiently)
  6. Salt (sufficiently)
  7. Onion (1)
  8. Tomato sauce (sufficiently)

How to make Spaghetti & Meatballs?

  • Chop the Garlic and Onion and add to the pan.
  • Drizzle some olive oil and water to make a stew.
  • Add Tomato sauce.
  • 5 minutes after, mix with the meatballs and salt.
  • In a different pan, fill with water.
  • Add salt (and olive oil if desired)
  • Once is boiling, add the spaghetti
  • Leave it until it’s cooked and (ding) Ready!

Easy Peasy!

Ready to Eat!

‘Hey you! Let’s Cook’ Storyline

I enjoy cooking, I always have… (not always, but most of the times)! Mom, uncles and aunties prepared me very well for adulthood.

Now that I live on my own, I thank them for the hours they spent teaching me how to season meat; how to make rice; how to avoid burn the food; how to know if it’s cooked; when’s the right time to turn off the stove and specially, how to prepare a variety of dishes and eat healthy.

From my point of view, there are two eating habits options: the first one – processed food, which is quick to buy at supermarkets and kill the hungriness for 10 minutes. The second one (my favourite), cooking food, in which you can identify every single ingredient you ingest and satisfies you for at least 1 hour.

‘Hey You! Let’s Cook’ emerged 3 years ago through a university project. The lecturer Josie Barnard, from Publishing Books and Magazines module challenge us, students, to create and present a sample of a book containing self-critical reflection; plan for launch, distribution and promotion.

Although it was not the best seller worldwide, I came up with ‘Hey You! Let’s Cook’:

Overall, I received excellent feedback from Josie and my peers, therefore as a video lover I always desired to spread the idea! Today is the D-day! Join me in this journey, which I hope it goes well. The main aim is to help people cooking with simple and quick recipes, in order for them to embrace option number two on a daily basis.

A special thank you to Páscoa Costa (for taking the pictures back in 2013); Josie Barnard (for challenging me) and Maria Ana (for being the first on this aspiring idea).

Do not miss ‘Hey You! Let’s Cook!’!

Gianluca Luisi needs you!

Social Network has a strong impact on people; therefore I am sharing this story. I know Gianluca and I have donated £10 to make his dream come true. Do something kind today. It is easy to help others! Click here.

My name is Gianluca I’m 22 years old. I am trying to raising money for a new powerchair . I play for Aspire powerchair sports club and we will be playing in the Champions League in October In Denmark. The new wheelchair is called the strike force.  This will enable me to play in the European Cup. I have been playing for the last 8 years and this will be my first chance to play at this level and maybe even the World Cup  one day. It means so much to me as this is the only competitive sport I am able to play. I travel to training each week and play in regionals and national games, I’m very committed to my team members and would love to support them by going to the Champions league and bring home the cup to England!
I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy I cannot walk and have been in a wheelchair since the age of 10. I had a full back fusion when I was 16.  I now have very limited movement in my arms and need 2 carers to help me on a day to day basis.  The chair needs to be modified due to my weakness.  The condition causes muscle wasting and there is no cure.
Please would you consider helping me along with my funding. I will be so thankful for any amount of donation.

Thank you for reading my story.

January 23rd, 2016. 00:11pm.

I was late. I was on my wait to meet my impatient friends at the club in Piccadilly Circus; suddenly I hear his voice, “what a great voice!” – I remember thinking to myself.

At that point, my friends could wait. I did not even care how late I was because I had to stop and enjoy the moment.

It is known my fascination for street performers (remember Gaspar Silva?). I admire their perseverance to pursue big dreams – we all have to start from somewhere!!

Thank you Ashley Abigo for delivering a moment of happiness and reminding me to never give up on what each person is talented for through your music. I wish all the success! You deserve it!

How to eat Chicken || Serious Conversation

Location: Restaurant

Time: 19:26

It’s not Deanne, neither Sharna! ahah It’s Me.

There is this stereotype that black people love eating chicken. Who doesn’t? Throughout my lifetime I still did not meet that person. Turkish, Bangladeshis, Sao Tome, Portuguese, Spanish, Russians, Australians, Indian people  (you get it)… all these mixed, White, Black and Asian people enjoy a good piece of chicken leg with chips.

Nevertheless, the way Rio was eating that poor chicken had to go to Youtube. I am surprised he left the bones!

Frying Eggs in Water!

At first, it sounds unusual, but it is actually good!

Yesterday, I was at work spreading to my co-workers that the night before I saw a video on Youtube, in which the chef fried an egg using water instead of oil.

Can you imagine their reaction?

“WATER EVAPORATES!” So does the oil….

In order to prove that works, this morning I did a video and sent to them. Now it’s your turn to try!

PS: One of my colleagues suggested eating the fried egg with a bagel. “It’s delicious”, he said. There you go Calvin:

Photoshoot || Anderson

The beautiful baby I spent Christmas with had his first Photoshoot session.

I am aware that I was not the first person taking a picture of him, obviously…. but I was the first person making a professional photoshoot session of him, clearly!

Anderson is now the youngest person I ever took pictures of (I think) and I predict a modelling career.

Welcome! 🙂 I wish you all the best.
Dream big and make it happen!!

Now it’s your turn! Do you want a photoshoot?
